Current Dogs
Junior
Junior was born in 1998 and was bred by
us. He is a handsome boy who has earned his show championship and
his junior hunter title and has points towards his field championship.
Junior’s natural ability in the field has always been one of
his strong points. He has been a pleasure to hunt with and train and
easily adapts to whatever type of hunting you are doing with him.
Junior’s mother, Quin, and father, Chief, were also both Rufus
Woods dogs. See below for more information on Quin and Chief.
Asti
Asti was born in 2003 and bred by Cimmaron
Brittanys in Nebraska. She is a beautiful and birdy girl. Asti finished
her show championship in 2007 and we are now going to work towards
her dual championship. Asti’s mother was also bred by Cimmaron
Brittanys in Nebraska and is a full-sister to two dual champions.
Rock was bred by us and born in December of 2006. He
has a few juvenile field trial placements and recently completed his
bird dog training with Bunny Brown of High Point Kennels. With two
little human kids added to our family recently, it just wasn't possible
for us to do it ourselves anymore! We are looking forward to a great
hunting season with Rock and hope he will get lots of wild bird exposure.
If time allows you might also see us at a trial or two this fall.
Arrow was bred by us and born in December of 2006.
She is a littermate to Rock. We are also looking forward to a great
hunting season and lots of wild birds for Arrow!
Our Past
Quin
Quin was bred by Starlight Brittanys in Illinois. She earned her senior
hunter title and also competed in the show ring and agility ring before
retirement. Quin’s favorite activity was ALWAYS hunting and
she was a willing participant every chance she could get. The first
bird dog we trained solely ourselves with no professional help, she
taught us a lot about birds and bird dogs! We miss her tremendously.
Chief
Chief was bred by Marsport Brittanys in Michigan. He was a show champion
and earned his junior hunter title. Chief earned multiple Best of
Breed wins, group placements, and a Best in Specialty Show during
his lifetime. Chief was always a character and did everything with
flair. We will always remember his style and beauty on point. His
flashiness and attitude are missed by all but live on in many of his
pups.
Scout
Scout was bred by Marsport Brittanys in Michigan and was sired by
Chief. Scout introduced us to the obedience ring. He earned his CD
and also became a certified therapy dog. However, his therapy career
was short as we couldn’t manage to get him to understand that
he really couldn’t snuggle in the lap of everyone he met! Scout
truly was a best friend and the sofa is very empty without him.
